Purpose
The District Team structure is designed to provide direct support to Girl Scout volunteers who work most closely with girls. This award is to recognize those District Teams who, by working together, accomplish the goal of providing that support in an outstanding manner, reflective of the goals and mission of Girl Scouting.
Guidelines:
  1. The District Team, with guidance from the Field Director, must develop a yearly plan of work based on the council’s goals and objectives. This plan must be submitted to the Field Director by July 15th.
     2.  Regular District Team meetings must be scheduled and held to monitor the progress of the District Unit.                  Adjustments may be made to the "plan of work" as needed.
     3.  This form must be submitted to the Director of Field Services by April 1st.
Management:
1.  A complete District Team must be in place and functioning. The team should reflect the diversity of the population within the District. Please list team members.

2.  Current, signed Volunteer Agreements for all District Team Members must be on file at the Girl Scout Service Center.
3.  All District Team Members must be fully trained for their position.
4.  District Teams must be represented at Kick-Off and all Council sponsored Team Conferences.
5.  All District reports must be submitted to Council representatives by the date requested.
Membership:
1.  Increase Girl Membership by a percentage to reflect the Council’s goal by March 31. March membership figures of prior year are used for comparison.

2.  Increase adult membership by at least 2% by March 31. March membership figures of prior year are used for comparison.

3.  Positively promote Early Bird Registration with 40% of troops participating.
4.  Conduct at least one District sponsored girl event/program with 50% of troops/groups participating.

Note – District Age Level Events can be substituted providing one is held for at least 3 age levels and 60% of that age level troops/groups is participating.
5.  Positively promote the Outstanding Troop Award resulting in at least 20% of troops earning award.
6.  Conduct a presentation about Summer Program.
7.  Incorporate a minimum of 2 workshops/mini trainings into District Meeting. (Ideas available from Adult Development Department)

Community Relations:
1.  Plan and conduct a District-wide community service project, with 50% of troops participating. Attach # of troops & description of activities.
2.  See that 50% of troops/groups participate in an activity to make Girl Scouting more visible. (Attach # of troops and descriptions of activities).
3.  Update information in Community Profiles (as needed).
Adult Development:
1.  Ensure that 80% of adult volunteers are fully trained for their position within six months of their appointment.
2A.  See that deserving volunteers in the District are recognized in some way at the District Level.

2B.  Submit required paperwork for council recognition by requested deadline.
Fund Development:
  1. Ensure that all eligible troops/groups are made aware of and properly trained to participate in Council sponsored sales.
    2. Positively support Council sponsored Fund Development efforts.
The District Team of District has achieved the objectives for Esprit de Corps / Spirit of the Group.
