Charlotte - Do you want to buy Girl Scout cookies with no calories? It's possible this year through a service project that will send the cookies you buy to our military troops overseas!
Girl Scouts, Hornets' Nest Council announces its eighth year of a successful and exciting local service project opportunity that brings a taste of home to our military troops overseas. Customers are able to purchase and send Girl Scout cookies to troops far away from home through a partnership with retired local military personnel. This project, called Cookies for the Troops, began in 2002 and more than 200,000 boxes of cookies have been shipped abroad to thousands of service men and women! For this great project, our girls and volunteers were recognized with a Special Achievement Award from the Carolinas Freedom Foundation for their efforts.
Join in the excitement of this program! You may purchase cookies for yourself or to send overseas via troop cookie booths that will be set up in front of local businesses February 12th to March 12th. Please contact the Girl Scout Council at 704-731-6500 to find a cookie booth sale
near you or to purchase by the case over the phone! You may also order online, starting January 1st at
www.hngirlscouts.org. Individuals purchasing Cookies for the Troops may treat the purchase price as a charitable contribution.
