Girl Scouts is the world's preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world.  In partnership with committed adults, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives:  strong values, social conscience, and conviction of their own self-worth.

The Girl Scout program serves girls ages 5-17 and is designed to allow a girl to learn at a level and pace that she is able to understand. By helping girls plan activities that offer growth and challenge, yet are not beyond their capabilities, we are giving them the opportunity to develop critical life skills that will enable them to become confident, caring adults. Program experiences should meet the needs and interests of girls, be based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law, and enable girls to grow and develop as described in the four Girl Scout Program Goals, which are

1. Develop to her full individual potential,
2. Relate to others with increasing understanding, skill and respect,
3. Develop values to guide her actions and to provide the foundation for sound decision-making, and
4. Contribute to the improvement of society through the use of her abilities and leadership skills, working in cooperation with others.
