Charlotte, NC. November 20, 2014—Today, Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council…
Much of the fun of Girl Scouts is achieving. It’s setting goals and reaching them. Growth in leadership starts with fun, innovative programming at every grade level.
Our programs are based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and the National Program Portfolio. The National Program Portfolio has two main parts – the National Leadership Journeys and the The Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting. Complemented by the Girl Scout Cookie program, Girl Scout travel and Girl Scout awards, the National Program Portfolio is designed to help girls develop as leaders and build confidence by learning new skills. It also ensures that Girl Scouts at every level are sharing a powerful, national experience—girls together changing the world!
If troop leaders need ideas for overnights or the occasional troop meeting, Toteable Topics are ready-to-use “programs in a box.” Patch Programs are designed to help girls experience the world around them and explore subjects that interest them at their own pace.
Leadership takes a community focus. Girls Go Beyond empowers girls throughout GSHNC’s underserved areas with the self-confidence to make positive health, education, and career decisions. Power of Girls helps middle school girls build self-esteem and life skills while making healthy choices.
