Outreach
Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council actively seeks to serve all girls, not just those who can easily find us. The outreach program provides Girl Scouting in communities where volunteer leadership is not easily identified. Your money might be used to sponsor a troop in a fragile neighborhood, public housing community or even a homeless shelter. We also work in many newly arrived communities where volunteerism and Girl Scouting is not necessarily a part of their culture.
Capital Investments
There is always a need for enhancements and equipment for each of our five properties available for use by the entire membership. In addition to normal maintenance of these constantly used facilities, there are needs for items such as picnic tables to outfit the new Pavilion at Camp Occoneechee, as well as canoes, kayaks, tents and other equipment.
Financial Assistance
Within the traditional, volunteer-led Girl Scout program, there are many girls who need some financial assistance to participate in various aspects of the program. Your contribution will help provide scholarships for girls to go to camp, assist with the purchase of uniform components, books and membership dues, or help pay for program and registration fees.
