WHAT: The new year is an opportunity for Anson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Rowan, Stanly, Union and York Counties’ female entrepreneurs to exercise their business skills for cookie season.
To help prepare for the three-month cookie-selling campaign, Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council is playing host to its annual cookie rally on Sunday, Jan. 22.
Approximately 1,000 Girl Scouts are expected to attend to learn about goal setting, safety, decision making, money management, people skills, technology, marketing, merchandising, door-to-door sales and more.
Photography and videography may be taken of the various hands-on learning experiences provided by community partners like Wells Fargo, Little Brownie Bakers, Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and Kappa Delta.
WHEN: Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, 2 – 5 pm
At 3:30 p.m. a pep rally will feature Sir Purr from Carolina Panthers, Homer from the Charlotte Knights, Tim E. Gator from the Kannapolis Intimidators and more. In addition, former Girl Scout and up-and-coming singer and songwriter Kristina Lachaga will perform for guests.
