Being a Girl Scout Senior is living proof of leadership quality. Now, make sure to cap it off with the Girl Scout Gold Award. It’s a great credential for your resume and college applications as it boosts your chances of receiving college scholarships!

Girl Scout Seniors, in ninth or tenth grade, advance under the guidance of trained adults. As a Senior, you’re committed to growing as an individual while sharing life experiences and deepening your understanding of the communities you serve. Journeys at the Senior level are geared to help you make the transition to a leadership role in the real world.

  • GIRLtopia is all about imagining your future and creating a pathway to make your vision reality. It’s time to get visionary!
  • Sow What explores the relationship of food to the earth. But that’s not all! You’ll also sow the seeds for real world know-how in areas from design to investigative skills to adventure and going mobile!
  • Mission: Sisterhood! Helps you identify stories of sisterhood around you and strengthens your community networks, near and far.


Uniforms and Badges

As a Girl Scout Senior, you proudly display your troop number, awards and patches on your traditional tan vest or sash. The Girl’s Guide To Girl Scouting comes with a detailed diagram showing where to place badges on vests or sashes.

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award for excellence and leadership for girls everywhere. Going for the Gold epitomizes putting your entire Girl Scout experience in one project that you’ll always be remembered for.


Travel & Destinations

As Seniors, you take every chance offered to see the world, whether close to home or abroad. Girl Scouts offers many opportunities to experience new places and meet new people.

  • The Travel Pathway is open to all girls regardless of previous Girl Scout experience or resources. You’ll have opportunities to prepare, plan, money-earn and engage in travel and Take Action projects.
  • Destinations are Girl Scout trips that open you to new ideas. They fall into five categories including international, outdoors, science, people and getaways.

Seniors also embrace Camping opportunities as ways of enjoying the outdoors and gaining new skills in an atmosphere of fun and sharing. Some experiences include:

  • Day Camp
  • Weekend Camp
  • Travel/Travel Camping
  • Minimal-Impact Camping
