CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Feb. 23, 2017) – As Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest…
Girl Scouts is the world’s preeminent organization dedicated to girls where they can build character and skills for success in the real world. By partnering with committed adults, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, including strong values, social conscience and a conviction of their own self-worth.
Girl Scouts allows girls to earn badges of accomplishment while working on Journey books and programs in Girls’ Guides. As the constant bridge throughout Girl Scouting, badge opportunities advance and change as girls progress through the grade levels.
High-quality mentoring leads girls through the Girl Scout experience by preparing them to face a variety of situations and challenges. Our leaders have walked in the girls’ shoes before and serve as positive role models, committed to helping girls gain the most from their Girl Scouting experience.
Girl Scouting is a transformational experience as the leadership model provides five benefits including building a strong sense of self, developing positive values, encouraging girls to seek challenges, helping girls build healthy relationships, and getting girls involved in community problem solving.
Girls who participate in Girl Scouts for over three years are more likely to be leaders, have a greater sense of self, are more successful, and are more active in community service and volunteer work than non-alumnae.

With Girl Scouts, girls are always counting down to the next adventure. It could be artistic. It could be scientific. It could be getting out and exercising their social conscience in the community. The possibilities are endless.
In addition to enjoying countless adventures, girls will make loads of friends, share tons of experiences, and see how exciting the world is and how awesome they are, over and over.
With every opportunity they seize, girls develop, grow and take action! Girl Scouts participate in challenging programs that expose them to a wide variety of fields to discover, connect and take action.
Girl Scouts is open to all girls, grades K-12. National registration fees are $20 and financial assistance is available.
