No matter how you were involved in Girl Scouts – Brownie for a year, Gold Award Recipient, troop leader – you’re forever a part of a 59-million-strong network of Girl Scout alumnae.

The purpose of the Girl Scout Alumnae Association is to connect Girl Scout alumnae to inspire each other while cultivating a legacy of leaders.

Rediscover the magic, reconnect, celebrate  and help add to the millions of lives that have been positively transformed by Girl Scouts.

Any person, 18+, who has ever registered with their Girl Scout Council, or GSUSA, as a lifetime member, volunteer, leader or girl is eligible to be a part of Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council’s Alumnae Association!

Launched in September 2015, Beyond the Sash was established to: Provide meaningful networking and professional connections; Provide a platform to connect and engage with other Alumnae; And to always be a sister to every Girl Scout.

With the purpose of connecting, inspiring and leading, we engage Alumnae across generations to support each other through sisterhood and to establish a legacy of leadership which transcends the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

Are you an alumna? As our council continues to develop Alumnae Initiatives, we’re excited to introduce you to the latest piece of the puzzle – our Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council Alumnae Association LinkedIn page. Just like our company page, all you have to do is request to join.

Keep up to date with Beyond the Sash forums and socials by following our LinkedIn page and checking our council calendar.

Commit to a girl! Your support gives you an opportunity to honor a specific girl to commemorate your years in Girl Scouting, or to celebrate a woman who was there for you.

This year we're also celebrating the history of camping with the Girl Scouts. Help us celebrate the impact camp has on girls in our footprint by attending our upcoming reception. Register now below.

There are many ways to tailor your involvement to your lifestyle. Whether you have a day, a week, a month or a year, we have a volunteer opportunity to reconnect you with Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council is constantly in need of adults to serve in the following capacities:

  • Guest Speaker
  • Program Consultant
  • Trainer or Workshop Coordinator

If you would like to learn more about any of these opportunities, please email us!
